Wine 11.10 on Linux Adds VKD3D 2.0 and Other Key Improvements

On May 29, 2026, the Wine development team released version 11.10 of its well-known compatibility layer. Designed to let Windows applications run on Linux, Wine 11.10 brings a few notable improvements. Here’s what you need to know.

Wine 11.10 Improves Direct3D Translation

Wine 11.10 includes a major update to its bundled VKD3D component, which now moves to version 2.0. This change is beneficial for users running video games that rely on Direct3D 12 features. In fact, VKD3D’s goal is to implement the full Direct3D 12 API on Vulkan.

17 Bugs Fixed by Wine 11.10

As noted in the changelog, Wine 11.10 fixes a total of 17 bugs. These fixes are aimed at users of certain software and video games, since this release addresses specific issues. As a result, Wine 11.10 improves support for the following games and applications:

  • IrfanView
  • Star Wars Racer
  • Git
  • Kodak EasyShare
  • Family Tree Maker 2017
  • Foxit PhantomPDF Business v10.0
  • Vocaloid 6
  • Photolemur 3
  • Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
  • Age of Empires III

The goal remains the same with every Wine update: to deliver better overall stability when running these programs. This new version is now available for download.
