Windows 11 KB5094126 Update Brings Major June 2026 Improvements

KB5094126 and KB5093998: here are the two new updates released by Microsoft on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, for Windows 11 24H2, 25H2, and 23H2 devices. What are the main changes? Here’s everything you need to know!

Reminder: the June 2026 Patch Tuesday is particularly heavy, with a total of 200 vulnerabilities fixed across Microsoft products. It also patches 3 zero-day flaws, including the GreenPlasma and YellowKey (BitLocker bypass) flaws.

Depending on the Windows 11 version you are using, here is the update you will receive:

• The KB5094126 is intended for Windows 11 25H2 and Windows 11 24H2,
• KB5093998 is available for Windows 11 23H2.

The main changes for Windows 11

👉 Virtualization - Bug fix

Microsoft says this update fixes an issue that could lead to HYPERVISOR_ERROR (0x20001) and KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED (0x1E) errors after installing update KB5089573. These errors can appear at different times: during system restart, while running virtual machines, or when using certain games.

👉 Lots of improvements: first wave of the K2 program

The bulk of this update was already announced on May 26, when Microsoft released KB5094126. This is the first K2 program update from Microsoft, which makes it an important release. As a reminder, Microsoft is planning a series of updates to improve Windows 11 stability and performance: this one contains the first wave of enhancements.

As I already mentioned in my article on the subject, this update brings the following optimizations:

• A faster Start Menu and search performance
• Reduced latency when opening apps, especially through application shortcuts on the desktop
• Improved responsiveness in File Explorer
• Better handling of touch input and commands
• A faster clipboard history and faster system pop-ups
• Improved Microsoft Store efficiency for app downloads (better use of available bandwidth)

In addition, there are other new features, such as support for shared audio over Bluetooth LE and access to camera streams by two apps at the same time. There is also a small new feature on the Windows installation side, since you can now choose a custom name for your user folder during the step where you define the machine name.
