Claude Marketplace Grows Fast: Anthropic Brings 2,000+ Connectors and Plugins Together
Launched in March 2026 with just six partners, Claude Marketplace is taking a major step forward: Anthropic now brings together more than 2,000 connectors and plugins there, while also making it easier to access third-party products and a partner network. All in one place.
On September 23, 2026, Anthropic announced on its blog a new version of Claude Marketplace, which was already launched in March as part of a preview. At the time, it was limited to the solutions of six partners (GitLab, Harvey, Lovable, Replit, Rogo and Snowflake) and was reserved for companies already working with Anthropic.
Anthropic has now decided to open up the marketplace so it can host Claude connectors and plugins, as well as a directory of consulting firms and integrators. Another change: developers, vendors and integrators can now apply to be listed there.
As a reminder, a connector allows Claude to access an external application (Canva, Jira, Notion, Salesforce, etc.) in order to read or write data there. Technically, it relies on MCP, the open standard introduced by Anthropic and since adopted by other players, including OpenAI.
Connectors, agents and integrators: three categories
The current version of Claude Marketplace is organized around three categories:
- Connectors and plugins: more than 2,000 extensions are available, including the most popular solutions. They are built with MCP and Agent Skills.
- Agents and products: third-party software based on Claude, offered among others by CrowdStrike, Cursor, Harvey, Legora, Lovable and Snowflake. In other words, you buy a third-party service through Anthropic.
- Service partners: consulting firms and integrators that are members of the Claude Partner Network, such as Accenture, Boston Consulting Group or Deloitte, to help deploy Claude at an organizational scale.
The second category is fairly unusual, because the AI budget already contracted with Anthropic can be used to pay for a third-party tool, such as CrowdStrike's Charlotte AI solution or Snowflake. Anthropic cites the example of CodeRabbit, which allocated part of its commitment to Vercel, where its code agents run, as well as Power Digital and ThoughtSpot, which did the same with Snowflake.
"Claude Marketplace makes it easier for Anthropic customers to adopt Snowflake by dedicating part of their committed spend, which shortens purchasing cycles and accelerates value creation", explains Alexa Kelly, Head of Technology and AI Partnerships at Snowflake.

Publishing on the marketplace: open, but with trust levels
If you're a developer, how do you publish on the Claude Marketplace? That's an interesting question. According to the documentation, any user with a paid Claude subscription can submit a connector. Once your request is submitted, it is automatically reviewed to check compliance with Marketplace rules, then listed by default with a "Community" label. But be careful: the directory no longer accepts local MCP servers packaged in MCPB format; they must now be integrated into a plugin.
Each connector therefore displays its review level:
- Verified: Anthropic has tested its tools (quality and compatibility). The page dedicated to verification states that this is "not a security audit".
- Community: a third-party connector filtered before listing, but not deeply reviewed. Claude shows a warning before connecting.
- Custom: a connector manually added by the user, with no review from Anthropic.
"We do not control the tools made available by the Community developer and cannot guarantee that they will work as expected or that they will not change, so only connect to developers you trust", Anthropic warns. The company also reminds users that a developer can change the tools exposed by its connector at any time, and that prompt injection risk must be kept in mind.

Thanks to these connectors, Claude can more easily access your data, but also extended capabilities tied to connected tools. Take Google Drive as an example. If you link it to your Claude account, you can then view the contents of your Google Drive, but also create, update or delete any file.

For admins, this is not easy to manage: with more than 2,000 extensions just a click away, a user can absolutely connect Claude to third-party tools. In any case, Anthropic is not the only one offering a marketplace like this.
